Replacement of Culvert 84-09.0 on County Road 84 (Zurich-Hensall Road)

This project is for the replacement of culvert 84-09.0 located on County Road 84 (Zurich-Hensall Road), 0.5km East of Babylon Line. The structure is a 5.5m span rectangular concrete cast-in place culvert built around 1950, which conveys the municipal drain, Black Creek Drain West Brook.

Due to the condition of the culvert, replacement is recommended. Following hydrology and hydraulic investigations a 6.0m span, 22m long pre-cast concrete box culvert was selected.

Construction for the culvert replacement was awarded to Lavis Contracting Co. Limited. Construction is anticipated to commence on July 6, 2026, with an estimated duration of 5 weeks.

During construction, County Road 84 (Zurich-Hensall Road) will be fully closed at the culvert location to facilitate the culvert replacement. Local traffic will be permitted on County Road 84 between County Road 2 (Goshen Line) and County Road 31 (Parr Line), but only up to the point of closure on County Road 84. A signed detour route will be in place via Highway 4 (London Road), County Road 83 (Dashwood Road) and County Road 2 (Goshen Line).

Please also note that during construction there will be no access to the Klopp Tract Commemorative Woods parking lot.
