This project is for the replacement of culvert 31-06.3 located on County Road 31 (Parr Line), 0.35km North of Staffa Road. The existing structure is a 1.52m span CSP culvert which conveys an unnamed municipal drain, built around 1965.
Due to the condition of the culvert, replacement is recommended. Following hydrology and hydraulic investigations a 2.0m diameter, 24.5m long CSP culvert with Aluminized Type 2 coating was selected.
Construction for the culvert replacement was awarded to Lavis Contracting Co. Limited. Construction is anticipated to commence on August 10, 2026, with an estimated duration of 3 weeks.
During construction, County Road 31 (Parr Line) will be fully closed at the culvert location to facilitate the culvert replacement. Local traffic will be permitted on County Road 31 between County Road 3 (Mill Road) and County Road 84 (Zurich-Hensall Road), but only up to the point of closure on County Road 31. A signed detour route will be in place via County Road 3 (Mill Road), Highway 4 (London Road), and County Road 84 (Zurich-Hensall Road).
