Replacement of Culverts 19-19.9 on County Road 19 (Molesworth Line)

This project is for the replacement of culvert 19-19.9 located on County Road 19 (Molesworth Line), 1.2km South of County Road 86 (Amberley Road). The structure is a 1.52m span round CSP culvert, built around 1965, which conveys the Maitland River Municipal Drain.

Due to the condition of the culvert, replacement is recommended. Following hydrology and hydraulic investigations a 2.0m diameter, 29m long CSP culvert with Aluminized Type 2 coating was selected.

Construction for the culvert replacement was awarded to Kurtis Smith Excavating Inc. Construction is anticipated to commence on August 12, 2026, with an estimated duration of 3 weeks.

During construction, County Road 19 (Molesworth Line) will be fully closed at the culvert location to facilitate the culvert replacement. Local traffic will be permitted on County Road 19 between County Road 16 (Newry Road) and County Road 86 (Amberley Road), but only up to the point of closure on County Road 19. A signed detour route will be in place via County Road 16 (Newry Road), County Road 12 (Brussels Line) and County Road 86 (Amberley Road).
