Jane’s Walk is Recruiting Storytellers to Share Local Narratives as Huron County joins the Global Festival May 2024
Jane's Walk Huron is on the lookout for passionate storytellers to join its mission in uncovering and sharing the diverse narratives that shape our communities. As part of an annual tradition that celebrates urban exploration and community engagement, Jane's Walk invites individuals with a flair for storytelling to become ambassadors of their neighborhoods, weaving tales that reflect the richness and complexity of community life.
Named after the renowned urbanist Jane Jacobs, Jane's Walk is a global movement that organizes free, citizen-led walking tours worldwide. These walks offer an intimate glimpse into the heart of neighborhoods, highlighting the stories, histories, and issues that define them. From hidden gems and historical landmarks to local legends and grassroots initiatives, each walk offers a unique perspective on the community and its inhabitants.
No prior experience is needed to become a Jane's Walk Huron storyteller - all you need is a love for your community and a willingness to share its stories with others. Each walk is between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours long, and will be scheduled on May 4 or 5, 2024. Training and support will be provided to help you craft engaging narratives and lead memorable walking tours.
