Keep it Bayfield

I think that most residents and visitors are attracted to Bayfield for the charm and quaint village. Let's keep it that way. Yes I voted against Tim Hortons but see it everyday I travel along with another gas station and variety store. Was that fair to our local coffee providers and current shops? is that an image we were going for. There are already Tim Horton cups in the ditch. I don't consider that progress for Bayfield. I see a small cottage removed and two huge homes built in place on Elliott St. that fact not one neighbour was advised were being built and destroys the view and the atmosphere of that street. Since that was pushed through where is the sewer lines that were talked about. If that equipment didn't encourage erosion on our already troubled beach I am not sure what would.

I understand expanding and progress is a necessity for Bayfield which is why I am compelled to forward my thoughts. All I read here is about a dog park. I am a dog owner of 2 dogs that I am responsible for. The village is not responsible to provide my dog an area to play and run. I am. If you have a dog it is your responsibility. Not all dog parks are a success, other dogs have been hurt and pick up health concerns. Why would you put your dog in that situation. I don't think this is the biggest concern we should have in our village. Positive consideration should be to our elders who cannot cross highway 21 to get to the pharmacy for their meds as there is no safe cross walk. With covid new distanced workout areas to keep Bayfield fit. The yoga in the park is great consider extending it longer or similar options. For visitors the draw is the beach which needs ongoing work in all areas. The quaint village which our locals should support yearly especially now. Keep it quaint and the destination of choice. If that includes new sidewalks or lighting thats great if they are kept in the design of Bayfield. For future development advise those neighbourhoods well in advance. Hear the concerns and work with it. You ask for input on issues when it appears the decisions are already made. That is frustrating so I trust the future of Bayfield will be considered by all who take the time to put thought and words to you.
